What is meant by 'foreign public officials' under the OECD International Anti-Bribery Convention?
"A “foreign public official” is defined broadly so that any person that holds an office (whether elected or appointed) or any person exercising a public function for a foreign country is considered a foreign public official. ""Public function"" includes any activity in the public interest. Under the definition of the Convention, a foreign public official could be a company officer of a public enterprise, the head of a government designated monopoly, or senior officers of any company in which the government exercises dominant control.
